I use to know the webpage where all I do is put in the genetics and it breaks it down to what will be produced.. But I lost it.. So if someone could post it I would appreciate it. One of my question is what would you get if you breed a 100% het albino male to a normal female? All 100% hets? Also 100% het X 100% het breeding? Thank you

100% het albino male to a normal female = 50% het albino

Also 100% het X 100% het breeding? = 1 albino, 1 normal, 2 66%hets

These are theorectical based on a clutch of 4.

how about this I breed the 100% het albino male to a normal female and lets say I get 2.2 and raised the females up and breed them back to the 100% het male. What would be my chances of getting a albino? The reason I ask is i just got a adult 100% het male but females are to exspencive so im trying to produce my own albino ans im willing to wait to raise up the babies..

Each of your 2.2 would have a 50/50 chance of carrying the albino gene. Out of two females one or both could be carrying the albino gene and you could end up with an albino or two. Or they could both be normals and you would end up with more 50% hets.

Your chance of one or more of two 50% chance het albinos being het is 75%. I did the same thing and started with a 100% het male X normal and got four 50% daughters giving me a 93.75% chance of at least one of them being a het (one already proved het actually). So get as many daughters as you can raise up to increase your odds.

Is there a way to temperature sex the eggs like you do with leopard geckos??

RandyRemington Jun 05, 2005 05:36 PM

No, in snakes gender is determined by chromosomes - not temperature. It is different than us in that it's the mother's contribution and not the father's that determines the gender though.
