i was wondering, at what age is it best to start handling a crestie? and does anyone have any tips on the best way to start?
it really depends on your experience with reptiles ( and ones that like to jump!)
i don't have any problems holding ones that are a couple of weeks old.
if all you're trying to do is tame one down, around 6 months ( 8-10 grams) would be the earliest you should probably try to handle one if you're not very experienced. most will tame down quite easy as they age if they've been around people most of their lives.
Our little one is around 3 grams/6 weeks old? We take him out and handle him a few minutes every few days and offer him some baby food off our fingers. He'll lick a little but he is jumpy so you have to be careful. He's content to walk around on us for a bit or "hand walk".
