Gravid E. Garter Questions?????????

Ok I have a GRAVID adult female eastern garter that I caught last week and she has now shed. but my main question is how long after she sheds will she have the babies? and what should I start feeding them? worms, crix, gupppies?

Obviously if you caught her in Florida she may be close to giving birth, if you caught her in Minnesota she won't be for a long while. I'm continually surprised at the number of queries I get where the questioner doen't bother to mention where they are located. Location matters.

Baby garters will eat small minnows, rosey's, chopped worms, small tadpoles or frogs/toads.

I caught her in Va. and she is very very large in the lower thrid of her body.IT LOOKS LIKE SHE HAS ABOUT 50 BABIES!!!

You must be simply ecstatic! Do you mind if I ask where in VA? I'm a VA resident and my garter just passed away this week. I hope to have another, but I'm going to wait until move. Do you have any pics, what's she look like?
