R.I.P. Hope

ptgirl Jun 05, 2005 03:52 PM

Well, my little malnourished rescued baby gecko expired at approximately 11:45 am today. I knew the chance for survival was slim. However, I reached one of my goals. I was determined that the little fellow not die alone in a pet store cage. We have buried him in our garden next to the statue of Our Lady. I just wish I could have done more. I tried the best I could.

R.I.P. indeed

hardluck be proud of yourself for trying though. tell the petshop the state of the gecko and how long after you got it it died as well. even with your loving attention. make sure they know what they did wrong and make sure they change things

Im sorry to hear that. You gave her all you could, im sure. Petstores these days just don't care sometimes.

Thats so sad.

I always bury my pets. Some dont see the point, but it puts me at rest. Its terrible how little some petstores care. We're between a rock and a hard place. Pet Paridise's cages are disgusting, I found two dozen dead crickets in one leo's water dish. I've found exactly four nead animals there, in seven visits. Petsmart takes horrible care of their leos, and there is tons of paricites going around. Super Pet is the best, but ony by a small margin. Three dead herps in 3/4 of a year of visits, as well as s turtle on his back. No matter how much I tell the employees to bring the pet to the vet, they never seem to listen. Its really unfourtanate that petstores insist on doing this.
