Just wondering.......

Is there anyone from the houston, texas area that posts on this fourm? I'm intrested in aquiring another snake and was just curious if anyone in my area was into snakes. I currently have a red tail boa and a savannah monitor. I'm not sure of the exact species of red tail though I'm leaning towards guyana; it was a boa that I aquired at work and have not a clue as to anything other than she is of the red tail boa variety. I keep hoping one of these days I'll meet someone that knows boas enough to acurately guess what my boa's locality could be.
I have had her sexed as a female and she's approximately 9 1/2 ft.
I'm undecided as to if I would want to breed boas, as I've been enjoying the one that I've had for quite sometime now. I primarily use my boa for humane education classes at the local elementary schools where "Baby" is a huge hit with the kids.

There is a large and active herp society in Houston, the east texas herp society. They have a website here on Kingsnake.com - www.kingsnake.com/eths/
Someone there can probably help you.

I've been to the november expo last year but didn't bring my boa along as I thought the expo not the proper place to find out without asking the expo first.
I've talked with Eric at the ultimate reptile, but he said that not only not knowing the background but also not knowing where the boa came from that he didn't even want to try to guess anything other than helping me figure out a sex on my boa.
I do respect Eric in saying what he did, as he's more a monitor expert than a boa expert.
I don't have a digital camera to post pictures with, though with lighting changes ect, that a picture would not be the same as the real deal to look at.
If I can determine what I have already... that will determine whether or not I will invest in another boa for breeding or for just a new pet snake.

Thankyou for the input though.
