Female GTP

cjherps1 Jun 05, 2005 10:57 PM

She is three years old, a bit over 6', has retained some yellow, and developed more white than I thought she would. I bred her to my late O.S. high yellow line male back in December but she has yet to take, and is still feeding aggressively. If any serious Chondro breeders out there have any comments or suggestions, please share.

Very nice girl! How low did you take temps? How high was the basking spot during cooling and after cooling? How long were they cooled? Wow! Six feet at only 3 years old?!

For cooling, I kept them in the low to mid 70s at night and in the low to mid 80s during the day with a hot spot of around 85-88. I kept the same hot spot before and after cooling them. They were kept under these conditions throughout the month of November and were introduced in December. There were copulations that took place in December, but the female never stopped refusing food anytime afterward. If you can give me any ideas or have comments/suggestions about this method please share, as I hope to start over this winter.

Yep, from the tip of her nose to the tip of her tail she is about .5-1" over 6', and she is an 02 animal! She loves to eat!

Any help on breeding her would be appreciated, as I would like to see if her appearance can be passed on.
Thanks

Sorry, I meant to say that she never refused food after being warmed up.
Thanks,
Chris

Females like too eat right up until ovulation. There has also been a few cases where females never refuse food.

I would take you chondro down cooler. Let them hit 70 - 68 NTL and 83-85 DTH. Cool them seperatly for a month or two and keep them booth cooled until you see ovulation or the female goes off feed.
