I know Anothony of ACReptiles.com lives there and Bob Clark of bobclark.com lives there. Both faculty's would be cool to visit. You might want to call ahead and schedule something though.

Hello Ingo,

Well, there isn't really too much to see here as far as "sight seeing." The Kansas City Zoo has a pathetic reptile exhibit. There are a few breeders that live around here, including myself. Bob Clark doesn't live around here, he lives in Oklahoma (Unless he moved or somethin.) Pet stores... we don't really have any incredible pet stores or anything like that, but there is one in Lawrence called Pet World that has a pretty good assortment of reptiles. The natural history museum at the University of Kansas is pretty cool and has a decent reptile exhibit. If you can, you should go to the St. Louis zoo and/or the Omaha, Nebraska Henry Doorly zoo. Those two zoos are very much worth the drive, and they're about three and a half hours away from here.

Hope this helps,
