It seems that the general consensus is that 28 quart rubbermaids are too small for adult ball pythons. I've seen the 32 quarts mentioned, but to me they just dont seem much bigger. Is it really impossible to use the 28 quarts, or have people had success with them considering balls prefer close quarters for security?

Personally, I don't like either one of them. I use underbed storage containers. They have wheels and are really easy to heat. They are 39.5"Lx18.5"Wx7"H. They are easy to get the snake into and out of because they have a top that is snapped together in the center and the 2 ends lift up. Like a half screen half glass top on a regular aquarium. I usually buy them at Walmart, although the ones that they carry to not snap in the center. You have to use a bungee cord with 2 hooks to hold the center down. I do not know where you live, but Bed Bath and Beyond carried them down here in Texas. The ones at BB&B have the snapping centers.
