BUZZING in the Incubator here!

Greg Graziani Jun 06, 2005 06:21 PM

This is our second clutch of the season and we could not be happier with the odds! Out of 7 eggs we got 1 Normal, 2 Pastels, 1 Spider and 3 Bumble Bees. The only little girl was a Pastel. If we had to be high on males this was the clutch to do it.

The Buzzing boys!

Those were some great odds, you must be stoked.

To celebrate your good fortune, send me the spider!

Congrats and kudos to you guys!! What I'm really waiting to see you guys hatch is a Super Pastel Pewter?!? You got a clutch on the ground yet that may have one or two of these in it??

We do not have any Pastel X Pewter eggs yet, but we do have Pewter X Cinnamon eggs due to hatch in about 10 days! Hoping to see a Super Cinnamon Pewter!

Thanks,

Anyone have any Pewter X Normal clutches cooking yet? I'm very interested to see if they can produce any normals or pewters. They probably will turn out to be independent genes like everyone seems to think but if they are alleles (different mutations of the same gene) you will never be able to produce a super pastel cinnamon or a super cinnamon pastel much less a super pastel super cinnamon. I guess your pewter X cinnamon clutch could provide the answer if you produce any normal or super cinnamon pastels but if not it will take a bunch of other clutches to be sure if it was just luck (good/bad) or cinnamon and pastel are alleles.

I have a few in the oven. Stay tuned!

What would happen if you bred one of those awesome Bubblebees to a Super Pastel?

Thanks.

Markus Jayne Jun 07, 2005 12:04 PM

You'd get Killer Bees, Bumble Bees, Super Pastels, Pastels. In other words...a very nice clutch!

I thought I had oustanding odds when I got 2 bumbles in a clutch of 6. Looks like there will be a lot of these buzzing around this year. Mine are all girls and yours are all boys! Maybe they should get together! Congrats!
