NEWS-PRESS (Fort Myers, Florida) 06 June 05 Girl, 6, killed by car while chasing turtle
Emily Kent, 6, was chasing a turtle when she was struck and killed on Old U.S. 41 last night.
Officers reported this morning that the youngster's mother said she was following a turtle into the roadway when she was struck by a car driven by Heather Lowe, of North Fort Myers.
The accident occurred at about 9 a.m. last night on Old U.S. 41 north of Littleton Road in North Fort Myers.
The accident is under investigation; no charges had been filed as of this morning.
Emily Kent lived at #5 Glenmont Dr. W, North Fort Myers.
