After checking out every inch of the cage they seem to be content. I see them out more in this cage then I did the other one and the male fed from my hand.
I have had the two girls for a few years both are very used to me as I raised them from babies. They are roughly 4-5 years old.
This male has only been with me a short time. He was wild caught so I have no idea of his age I could only guess by his size, but that wouldn't be very accurate. In the other cage he would see me coming and hide. I never knew he was eating or what he ate other then he was growing and the mice all disapeared.
This cage is higher and access is from the front the other was lower and access was from above. He seems to prefer me looking eye to eye with him rather then hovering from above.
I am still adding and subtracting things from the setup. Using what I learned from the other cage will hopefully keep the girls producing but allow for fertile eggs. I am hoping the change I see in the male will also be of help.
Well just thought I would share some of the day to day happenings here. I'll update on them again soon.
