i have four mossies and they all seem pretty different except for the two. i ve had a pair for over a year and they are not mating(female produced six dud eggs, two every 30 days). i think that they are just different strains or from different locales. my male is just under six inches, has a lot of orange and black speckling on his belly, has a lot of black in his mouth, and a more slender body. my female is 7in, very thick and robust, has a light peachy speckling on her belly, and has about half the amount of black in her mouth as my male. the other two, i have only had for a month and they are both females. the one is definitely a sameiti, it has no black in its mouth at all, it has longer fingers, a longer snout, and its a bit longer in body legnth. the other female is identical to my male in every aspect; size, shape, proportions, and belly and mouth color. im going to introduce her to my male in a couple days or so to see if they do anything. but honestly, im almost convinced that there are more than just two subspecies.

I agree with jadrig. thats why I never got a pair of each species besides my pair of lineatus. I wanna just have a whole bunch of mossies and focus on trying to breed them since their harder to breed I'll have a better chance with more. My one male mossy is so different than any mossy I've seen hopefully he'll still breed with my female. my other male is a sameiti.
sameitis have pink buccal cavities and are a little bigger and sikorae have black buccal cavities. My male sameiti is the size of my female sikorae.
