Bredli Owners --- I need some advice

toshamc Jun 07, 2005 12:02 PM

I was interested in getting a pair of Bredli pythons but cannot find any information about them. How big they get, eating habits, temperment, husbantry, etc. Can someone who owns one or knows where I can get some info, let me know. I think they are neat looking snakes, and I'd love to add them to my collection, but want to make sure I do my research first.

Thanks,

Bredli can get 6 feet or more. I have no problems with the way that mine feed. They take rat pups every time, unless in shed. Their husbandry is similar to other carpets like jungles. As far as their temperment, mine have not bitten me yet. They seem to be more docile than jungles as neonates and yearlings. Hope this helps.

I second what Will said. I sold my adults a few years back. They were quite docile and very good feeders. My females were around 7ft. and 8lbs. They are one of my favorites but it's too hot where I live and I couldn't get them to breed.

Bredli are from one of the hottest, driest, most inhospitable places on the planet. If it's too hot for Bredli, how do YOU live there.

Do you actually live on the Surface of the Sun?

I live in Palm Springs, Ca. The last couple weeks of May we had several days around 115*, and it's not even Summer yet. The coolest I can get my snake room at night during the winter is 75*, which is a little warm for breeding carpets.

I have somewhat of a care sheet on my website. They are awesome snakes, and I would totally reccommend them. They are also quite affordable these days compared to a few years ago. Let me know if you have any other questions.
