Speaking of albinos, quick ? re: color change

AbsoluteApril Jun 07, 2005 03:12 PM

Hey all, got a quick question for you. For those that have albinos, how fast do you normally start to see the color change?
I ask because the two albinos from my '03 litter haven't started to yellow up, but I see ads in the classifieds for yearlings that are already showing lots of yellow. The mother is a big yellow snake so I don't think I've got some special albinos that stay white, I fully expect them to yellow up. I do grow my snakes up slower than most, so these babies that are '03s are only 2'. My normal '01 BCI started to get her darker tan/yellow coloration once she got to be about 3' she is just over 4' now.
Does it seem to be a factor more of size than age?

I know each snake is different and what is the case for one is not always the case for the other... I am just looking for some thoughts or experiences to compare mine to.
thanks!!

i am curious in the differences in the 2 strains as far as color developement goes. i have a baby (10 days old) sharp strain albino and it has much less color than my kahl strain had.

anyone know how long before color starts coming in more?

I raise my boa's slow also I believe this is MUCH healthier and I have noticed they color up slower also and not just albinos. but I'm sure there are exeptions to that rule
