common snapper handling Q

Do you guys ever hold com.snappers by the carapace behind the head and the back ,or only ali.snappers that way?

Only alligator snappers should be held like that. A common could break free of that hold really quick. I would say hold them either on both of their sides or along the back edge where the feet are.

That's a quick way to get your fingers bit. With an aggresive wild common snapper, you most likely wouldn't even have a chance to get your hand in that position.
