feeding boa too much?

yavannaus Jun 07, 2005 05:17 PM

This friend of mine is feeding his boa, who is still under a year old, once a day, or, at least he is trying to feed her every day. Wouldnt this be considered power feeding, and is that not extremely stressful on their bodies? i just want to make sure i told him the right thing.

thanks.

Some people call it power feeding, but what's in a name? At any rate, I have never fed my boas like that, and I certainly wouldn't suggest anyone else doing it either. It stresses the animal, leads to health problems, and can be quite expensive, trying to supply all those rats. Tell your friend that he needs to get online and read some forums and buy some books, he'll see that what he is doing is not advised. Personally, I'm willing to bet he knows this already, and is just doing it anyway. Good luck though.
