You can find them in bars and such down under. Sometimes even stateside, unlike the Thorny Devil which is very much protected and can not be possessed without a permit no matter where you are.

When I was in California I saw a guy at one of the local festivals that had some. I have no details on the why's and hows. I do know that folks have been arrested for possessing them.
They are very cool though.
