Hi-
Well there is a lot of different products out there for feeding/gut loading crickets. You will need a cricket gutload and a water source, like carrots, potato's, oranges, apples, greens, and so on. I would not feed crickets any kind if cat, dog, or fish food. Remember what you feed your crickets, your chameleon also eats. There is a home made receipt on www.adcham.com, www.cricketfood.com sells high quality gutloads. Hope this helps!

500 crickets seems like a lot to get for just one chameleon. Even if you got them just after they're hatched, they only live for about six weeks, so your chameleon would have to eat an average of 12 every day to get through them before they die. I guess a larger chameleon may be able to eat them that fast considering they would eat more when the crickets are small and less when they're big, but it seems like if you just buy large crickets more often, you end up buying fewer crickets.
