breeding RETF

I have cycled my RETF and I am trying to breed them right now. They are all CB and raized by me. I keep the five of them in a 29 gallon tank. I believe I have 2 females and 3 males. The other night and about 3 months ago two were in amplexus unfortunatley it diddn't last and no eggs. I have a water fall system going on and also a misting system. I have been feeding them well and I keep the pH just below water on the acidic side. Any thoughts on what I could be doing wrong or what else I should try.
