Missing Pietchmanni

eastarch Jun 08, 2005 07:24 AM

The night before last I am standing there trying to find the female pietchmanni in her tank. Now I know I haven't opened that tank, but she is nowhere in sight. Eventually I open the tank and look under all the moss and move all the branches and logs. Still no lizard. It strikes me it is a little drier than I like in there so maybe she is down in the dirt somewhere trying to stay moist. After I water the tank and add a couple of cricket for good luck, I grab the flashlight again. There she is in plain sight right in the front of the tank on a log.

Last night the same story. She is so hard to see against the logs.

given time, you'll get an eye for them.

I have had that happen countless times. I have a male that the only way I can spot him is he has 3 white dots on his tail. But you have to love the fact that they just melt in to the corkbark!

Thanks
