I have a friend that lives down by Cahuilla / Anza and his kids report that they have seen many a horned lizard. Does anyone know if these are Platyrhinos?
Thanks

:Hello Cable. They could be Desert or Coast HLs. Would have to have more info to be sure. Pics would be good for a positive ID. Lester G. Milroy III
I might be able to get some photo's. My buddy has a digital camera. He just has to get the computer back on line. I'll let you know. He also says there are red ants all over down there. These are harvesters aren't they?
Thanks again Lester!
Hello Cable. Yes, the red ants, Pogonomyrmex californicus, are Harvester Ants. Good "toad" food
I look forward to a pic or two to give an ID. Lester G. Milroy III
Hey Lester,
If I remember right you said that in your studies you found as many as 15 ant types in HL diet. Can you say which types are in Coastal and which types are in Platyrhino diets? They probably share a few I would imagine.
All of this is pretty fascinating if you are so inclined.
I sure appreciate your knowledge as a resource here.
And by the way, when is your website going live?

Cheers
