Longicauda photo shows the contrast between...

RioBravoReptiles Jun 08, 2005 08:37 AM

.. the anery-look and the not-anery-look.. or Silver and Gold phases. I chose to photo these two together because they are so alike in pattern, yet so different in color and tone.

These beauties were born here about this time last year, they constantly amaze me! The longicauda in general are pretty interesting. The babies can look so different. There is no real polymorphism in populations of Boa (like you see in Candoia or some Corallus sp. as examples) but small longicauda sure come close, adults tend to appear much more alike.

Photo is from just now.

Very unique look to this subspecie. The male I got from you is getting better by the day. Thanks Gus.

Great pic, those are probably my favorite subspecies. I really like the high contrast black and white adults.

Great shot

... that is a great photo (not being immodest here).. the early light, the pose of the two snakes, the similarity and contrast between the Boas.. just a very pretty image.

If you take enough pictures sooner or later things happen right!

Thanks for your comments.
