Gopher passed away Monday evening. I had to clean out her cage yesterday because I realized Mon night every time I woke up I looked in it to check on her like always. I still jump everytime I hear a crinkling noise, to make sure she didn't get out. She used to do that all the time when she got out at the apartment (I didn't have a rightful lid, and she could lift up an amazing number of textbooks.) I'd hear her slide over a paper bag or something and I'd turn to look for her and she'd freeze, like I couldn't see her. She was out for two weeks one time, we found her on top of the cabinet, hiding behind our liquor bottle collection. (She was behind a yagermeister bottle, so she blended really well. smart cookie.) I'm going to miss her something terrible, but I'm keeping her hot rock and cage and I've already washed everything off so when I have my own place I can be on the lookout for another snake(s). I'll just have to keep busy so I don't find myself looking for her unconciously. (that won't be hard w/ a newborn).
