Honduran with Eggs (Pic)

tspuckler Jun 08, 2005 04:59 PM

This widebanded tri-color female is het for pinbanded hypo. She was bred back to her father (pic on my website) and threw this nice clutch of 7 eggs. Should be interesting to see what the offspring will look like.

What is a pinbanded?

The black bands are extremely thin, ie. "pinstriped" or pinbanded. On normal Hondos the black bands are usually pretty thick and uniform from top to bottom. Pinbands have razor thin black bands. Then there are vanishing, where the black band is thicker at the top of the snake and it narrows to the point of "vanishing" before it reaches the underneath of the snake. Check out this killer pinbanded ghost hondo from a previous post by owner Ian Daviss (pondoris):
