This is a neat article about diamondback terrapins that was in the New York Times (try link below). There are turtle lovers everywhere....

Is that the story about the guy that has rescued a gangload of turtles and keeps them in his loft, and who has turtles that are extinct in the wild? I saw that in our local paper. When I clicked on the link, tho, all I got was a registration for a subscription.

No, it was an article about a study being done by a Long Island University, and how there are citizens involved as well...
It had a really funny description of the turtles floating offshore waiting for the beaches to clear before they laid their eggs, with their heads above water like so many little U-boat periscopes.
