Why is no one breeding Green Madagascar Tree Boas?

Mad_1234 Jun 08, 2005 09:14 PM

Is anyone breeding green sanzania. Everyone seems to be breeding the manderine phase and I really don't see why they arn't breeding the green phase. I have yet to see a nice adult manderine MTB. Sure they may look cool as juvies but all of the adults I have seen lose that nice color a take on a muddy brown color.

I have seen photos of soime really nice light green sanzinia over the years, also photos of greys from a breeder in Cananada.... As for all the mandarin being dark adults..you obviously have not seen some of the high yellow adults around. There's a few in Europe who as adults are every bit as nice as the babies... I think mine will stay yellow and never get dark and brown. She is now just about 3' and still bright and pretty.

Her father is a gorgeous animal , lots of orange color in his pattern, definately a gorgeous snake.

My green female is about to drop in the next couple of months. She had babaies the year before last and they went fast.

Hi Jeff!

How's it going with your gravid female? I'm looking for green mtb's. How's yours in colour? If you got any hatched our is soon in progress i'm very interested. If you got pics on the parent i love to see them.

Best regards Tomas Sweden

HI,
My male is a nice light green, the female used to be, but once they are gravid they get very dark. I have shots of both. She usually has her babies in late Aug/early Sept. I will announce it here if they are okay at birth. I still have a 2 year-old male holdback who is very nice green (just started turning a few months ago, so should get better). Thanks,
Jeff
