what do you use for a hide?

lele Jun 09, 2005 12:26 PM

I will be setting up Darwin's new tank and need to give him a larger hide (he's already poking out one end of the one he has! lol!). I have a piece of curled corkbark I can use but it is currently a basking location. I know I can buy the usual hides, but looking for any other, unique suggestions. Will he use a large clay pot turned on its side?

Any thoughts appreciated,
lele

I've read that terracotta pots can be used as hides for leos...only thing I'd worry about is that his weight doesn't cause the pot to roll since it could injure especially those long toes or could scare the guy...

I have a small bark hide, but she will outgrow that in a couple months. I also have a curved piece of Driftwood that i could turn into a hide, using the side of the tank. I'm also looking to buy a larger heat cave. has anyone had any succes with those?
