For small snakes, In my opinion, get a deli cup, punch 10 or so holes in it. Fill it up 3/4 of the way with torn tissue paper and shredded wood (make sure it isn't toxic and that it is big enough so's that it doesn't block the air holes. Roll up a tissue into a tube and place it along the top of the cup, put the snake in, and the lid on. The tissue will act like a 'rope' or hammock for the snake to wrap around. Put the cup into a box with relevant heat pack, paper, etc.
