how to get rid of mites and tics?

raffertyreptiles Jun 09, 2005 05:47 PM

i was wondering i saw a post awhile back that said something about spraying nix or something like that after you dilute it just directly on the snake and throughout the cage i don't know if anyone has ever heard of this or if anyone can tell me a cheap way to get rid of these things cause they totally suck i've basically just gotten rid of everything in the cage except a water dish i use paper towels for substrate and have tupperwear for a hidespots and i just clean it all out every day or so and soak the snake in water trying to drown all the things. any help is appreciated thanks.

For the mites I use Hot Shot No pest Strips. You can get these at any Walmart, Lowe's or Home depot.

Ticks? start picking them off.

1 package of NIX and a 32 oz spray bottle, pour the entire contents of the nix bottle in a 32oz spray bottle and mix with water. spray the animal and cage. Do it again weekly untill all the mites are gone.
