Leos vs. Fat Tails

OC-Balls Jun 09, 2005 05:51 PM

What are the main differences?
Do any of you keep both?
I've seen some pretty nice looking Fat Tails, but most people tell me that the Leos are eaiser to keep.
I think I like the Leos better!!!
Thanks, and sorry for all the questions!!

Get a Leopard Gecko! They have many many more diff. colors and patterns. I could go on all day wit hthis, but I need to go. lol

They are in very similar in the animal chain but they can't make offspring. I think Leo's are a little easyer to keep also, from what I have heard.

But Im sure you would be happy with a FT...lol

AFT geckos need a little higher humidity than leos and I think higher temps. They aren't difficult to keep but i'd recommend a leo before a fat tail if some one is just starting out. They aren't as common in the trade as leos and don't have as many morphs and patterns yet, but I think they are pretty cool myself.

When I got my first leo about a year ago I looked at fat tails too and was told that I'd be better off going with a leo because the person I deal with said that he'd never seen a leo die in all his years dealing with reptiles. My male was 4 months old when I got him and he's doing great but the fat tail I saw that day didn't last through the year. I know most of the time that its the people that keep them and not the animal but I have a girl that was starved before I got her and my newest girl that was stuck in a box in the heat for 7 days before she got to me so if I had to choose between the two I'd stick with my leos and out of all my animals my leos are the easiest to take care of and I have a lot of animals.
