nolvasan - purchase?

lele Jun 09, 2005 07:44 PM

I have gotten my Nolvasan from my feed store and it always lasted long, but with Darwin I am using it a LOT more I think I will nickname him Sir Poopsalot!

Anyway, I have looked at a few places online but wondering if anyone knows of a good online retailer/price for it. I would be looking for a gallon - thanks

If you are diluting it properly, a little should go a LONG way... 1 ounce per gallon of water is all you need, I got mine from my vet's office...

i've never heard of nolvasan before. but i did a quick search on it and seems to be a cleanser. what are you using it for. also found that there is a generic form of it....the active ingredient is chlorhexidine. is it some less toxic analog of bleach?

Nolvasan is pretty much the safest cleaner you can buy... Vets use it to clean out wounds because it kills viruses, bacteria, fungi, and protozoans without harming the animal. You can also use it to clean out cages, rather than having to rinse (like after you use bleach) you can just wipe it up... The residue left behind actually helps continue to disinfect for a long time. If diluted properly it can be used to treat mites on live animals! It is very safe, the only thing to be careful about is not getting it in the animal's eyes.
I hope that helps!
