I expect some of my eggs to begin pipping over the weekend, while others won't start until the first week of July.
I know there are a few breeders who already have hatchling couperi, but I will let them speak for themselves..

Best regards,

Jeff

I got a couple couperi babies (sold already). Looks like another off year for a lot of breeders.

Hey Jeff... you get your email fixed yet?

Good luck everyone.

I live in FL and an Eastern is a rarity in my world. The more pics the better. Thanks for posting Jeff. Hopefully more pics are to come.
Take care and good luck guys.

Hello, Justin,

I originate out of Homestead, FL. and I recall couperi being more common than corn and rat snakes, guess those big red-chinned racers had to dine on something!
I returned to Homestead for a stint, upon finishing grad school at FSU, to find areas where I could find at least one couperi daily, up to four on a good day, almost completely developed. On a positive note, the habitat surrounding Homestead Air Force Base still appeared pristine, though I was unable to spend any time looking for couperi, I have no doubt the area harbors a strong population and the base commander backed up my belief and informed me that all individuals stationed there were familiarized with the species and that base security were well versed in regards to their protective status and maintained a careful watch for anyone attempting to collect such specimens on the base.
I know I recently posted it, but here’s a photo of the first couperi I ever caught, back when it was legal to do so of course. The poor guy was being harassed by a neighbor’s dog; I guess you could say that was the Dry which started it all for me.

Best regards,

Jeff
