BPs typically go "off-feed" during the breeding season. I'm curious about behavior when males are in the breeding mode. My theory is that while fully engaged in the breeding mode, males will refuse food. Also, males need to be cooled as well to prepare them for the breeding cycle.
As the temps rise, males will begin to feed and will lose the urge to breed. They still may breed but not as aggressively.
Thoughts/opinions?
