Got back to Phoenix last night. Walked the cuts in Terrell county with a $11.98 7 LED flashlight. Found 8
alterna!!!!!!!!, including 4 one evening - followed by
2 the next night! The 4 were all females, the 2 were
both males. I collected a large male bairdi, my first
encounter with a bairdi AOR, which I donated to the
Outback motel. I also sighted a tantilla rubra - my
first.
Here's the official tally - all were blairs phase:
HWY 90
5/31, 11:30PM - M-dark w/ bright orange.
6/5, 10:00PM - F-light intermediate.
6/5, 11:45PM - F-light, alternates w/bright orange.
6/6, 3:00AM - F-medium w/bright orange (GRAVID!)
6/6, 10:00PM - M-light, triple alternates w/bright
orange.
HWY 349
6/3, 2:30AM - M-black on black (Meyers Canyon)
6/6, 2:AM - F-light w/bright orange.
6/6, 11:45PM - M-light w/bright orange.
Hopefully, I got the dates and times right. I don't keep records contemporaneously. Pics of all these animals were taken by John Frazier
and he should be sending me those pics by e-mail. Then, I can post a few pics. The
last HWY 90 male with the triple alternates is
AWESOME!
