Alfalfa Questions

billsreef Jun 10, 2005 12:22 PM

Hi All:

I'm new to this forum as AOL has had the stupidity to let Melissa Kaplan go.

Anyway, I was reading MK's herp information and if I'm reading it correctly, about 1 tablespoon of alfalfa powder should provide about 15 gr. of protein. As my ig has taken to eating all his salad but the alfalfa pellets, I thought I would try the powder or the tea.

Here's my problem: all the sites I have come across that sell alfalfa powder show that 1 tablespoon provides 2 gr. of protein.
Thus, that would be over 7 tablespoons and that seems like an awful lot. The sites I found that sell alfalfa leaf tea don't show any nutritional info, so I don't know how much I would need to use.

Anyone have any experience using alfalfa tea or powder that could give me some guidance?

Thanks,

Kathy

Instead of having to try something else, you could always put the pellets into a food processor. Grind them up then mix it in with your igs food.

Thanks. I didn't see that part. There is a lot of info on that site! I will have to spend some more time reading it.
