Flexwatt in Incubator

jonf Jun 10, 2005 07:34 PM

I am building an incubator out of a mini fridge and was wondering (for those of you have done this) would a 2 ft. piece of 11" flexwatt be good enough.

I have an old incubator that I had built over 10 years ago and had used light bulbs for heat. The lights burn out too often and was thinking of changing over to flexwatt tape or any other reliable heat source. If I go with Flexwatt, how much would I need for an area 62" X 24" X 20". Thanks in advance.

Now thats a big incubator..lol. Sounds like it is almost the size of a soda cooler.. I would use enough to cover the floor and then half way up both sides.. All that and then a fan to circulate the heat and yourll be up and running.. Hope this helps,
