Merlin's present tank has a screen top that is hinged to open long ways so that a floresent, strip light can stay undisturbed on the top of the tank. A ceramic heat emitter and a basking light rest on the front part of the screen that opens. (can you picture it? I don't have a picture uploaded but will if necessary)
Recently, I aquired a 75 gallon tank (leaker for free
I got a regular screen for it because I was told they do not make a hinged screen for that big a tank. I was wondering if I bought a piano hinge and cut the screen in half, would it work or would it break down as time went on?
Thanks for any suggestions
