help me identify this box turtle

Hi everyone, just found this guy walking around outside my apartment complex. I'm wondering what type of turtle it is, i don't think it's native to my area but i could be wrong. I'm outside of Sacramento, CA. Here's some pictures

He definately looks healthy. I wouldn't be surprised if he's an escaped pet.

Three-toed box turtle, and I'm guessing female. NOT native to CA. You have yourself a new pet, if you so choose, otherwise I'd find an experienced keeper or rescue for it. Might want to post signs in the area to see if someone's missing it.
