Back from the vet's re: Female w/ swollen vent

wfreptiles Jun 10, 2005 10:37 PM

OK, so I took my female Crested to the vet today, if you remember her vent area was swollen and kind of crusty...
well first of all she is not a she, she is a he. Secondly he had an absesed hemipien (sp?). Dr. Greek popped out this nasty little white hard thing and said he should be fine now and put him on antibiotics. I will take him to be rechecked in 2 weeks.
I am glad that he is ok and the problem was very easy to treat.
Too bad my son has 2 males now for his breeding project.

Thanks for all your help.
Becky

Sorry to hear that your he is a she, but at least he's gonna be ok and made it through the whole thing so far. good luck with everything and let us know how he's doing.

well bummer its a male, but good deal you got it taken care of. luckily crested geckos are pretty hardy animals, and dont get sick often. im glad that your crested is going to be OK.

Hi Guys - I am very glad he is ok, he's a very nice little gecko, even if he is a male, hahahaha just kidding.
Thanks again for all the help.
Take care.
