I'm a mommy!

So, I live in S. Florida and it has been storming here like crazy every single day and the other day I found 7 eggs at the base of a palm tree in my yard. They were laying out on the grass by a peice of the tree that fell from the storm and I'm sure that they were laid in there. I've been incubating them and tonight I just checked on the eggs and one hatched! They are little house geckos and so cute! How soon should they eat and drink after hatching? I am familiar with raising Anoles and larger geckos but I have never sealt with house geckos...any advice would be great!

Gongrats they must be so cute! 2 days after i would give them pinhead crix or fruitflies. I do not and have not ever had baby house geckos....I'm just using my general knoledge on this one. Best of luck.

So I guess I was right after all! They should start eating within a few days but they will start drinking right away. You'll want the smallest prey possible which includes flightless fruit flies and aphids. If you can order some pinhead crickets they will be a great food supply! Other than that their care is just like what you would do with adults. I hatched some captive bred house gecko eggs in the past and had a 100% success rate.
