I've never posted in this forum before, my only milksnake pics........

Uncloudy Jun 11, 2005 01:45 AM

This is the only milksnake in my snake collection, it's a male 2004 Jalisco milk. I've been really happy with this one's beauty and even though he's been flighty at times, he's calming down nicely. I've noticed in trying to get information on this particular species, it's been tough to find they don't seem to be too common. This little guy will probably lead to more milksnakes in my collection now. Thanks for checking. Oh, and any information you know about Jalisco milks would be greatly appreciated and people who are breeding them. This little guy needs a female.
Happy Herping,
Uncloudy

this snake puts most of my other triangulums to shame, i have some 02' and 03' puebs, hondos, andies and sins that are way more jittery.
here she is taking her 1st meal in my care.

just wish red milks grew faster, thought she would never get out of the pinky stage, here's a recent pic of her munchin on a fuzzy.
your red milk looks to have better color than mine.

The reason i say you have a nice lookin jalisco is because of the nice white, most others that i seen have yellow instead.

I've always been very found of your nice collection and sharing it with others in the forums. It's definiately fun to see people who post alot in these forums and their snakes grow.

Interesting color/pattern on that snake. Where did you get it?

Uncloudy Jun 12, 2005 09:57 AM

sdr,
I got it from a friend here in AZ, who knows this guy who brokers snakes to reptile stores or breeders/sellers. I didn't get the brokers business name.

Looks like it could be a thayeri (variable king).

Uncloudy Jun 12, 2005 07:50 PM

sdr,
I know for sure it is a Jalisco Milk. I happen to have thayeri's also. This feeds like a milk and handles like milk. I also did some major investigation when I first got it as a baby because it does look like it could be other types of milks or kings. Some reputatable long-time breeders also got a pic and concurred it is Jalisco Milk.

JETZEN Jun 12, 2005 11:21 AM

what do you feed it?
here's a andean milk

Good call you get a gold star for today!
It's a Colorado Desert Shovel-Nosed snake that I rescued and released from my neighbors pool here in SW AZ. They have mildly toxic saliva and are insect eaters.

My trusty Stebbins field guide deserves the credit.
