my chubby frog has been sick for a while.i dont know how he got sick but he had a white color mold on his back.i came home today and he was all blood around the mold like he tore t off.what can i use to put on the cut?i have no vets around me for herps

Silvadene cream is the only thing I've really heard for use with amphibians. My zoo regularly uses it for skin fungus, tank rub, and burns.

I think it is vet prescribed only, but I'm not sure.

would neosporine work???i really dont want to lose this frog.

Silvadine is for burns.

Neosporin WITH OUT pain killers would be fine. This is very important. They must be without the pain killers, as the pain killers are toxic to amphibians.

YOW! Painful would be my guess. Just keep neosporin on it, and maybe keep it in a sterile setup (Paper towel, food dish, hiding spot, nothing else) until it heals. Frogs aren't my specialty, so I'd validate this with another who keeps frogs and has had experience with this type of wound.

bacitracin is ok, just don't use alot of it. You need to find a vet to solve the original problem. there is probably something wrong with your setup, most problems are due to improper care. temps too high, wrong substrate are possibilities.

his lesion has gotting a bit better since i put the neosporine on it.i put it on befor i went to bad and befor i went to skool today.i took him to the closest vet because i looked up stuff about lesions and it sd i could desolve Doxycycline in a water container and let him soak in it.would that be ok?o yeah and i think it may have been susbstrate because his cage wqas a MESS and i couldnt get to a petco or anything so i didnt have bed a beast.i used that reptile culch stuff.thats probly what happends.damn i stupid.he is blind in his right eye also.but his left eye is fine.

p.s. the vet couldnt give me the doxycycline because im only 14
