Hovabator question

wallyworld Jun 11, 2005 08:00 PM

I have a hovabator and want to control it via a Helix DBS-1000 thermostat.

Can I just remove the wafer thermostat from the hovabator and plug the hovabator into the Helix?

Basically, if I remove the wafer thermostat will the hovabator remain in a constant on status? This will then allow the helix to do its job.

Any help will be appreciated.

thanks

Hmm i dont think it would be that simple.

use a multimeter and measure the volts you might have to hard wire the helix meaning you'd have to do some truncating. In other news, id say avoid the hovabator. If you scroll below and read the post "scientific incubator" you can actually purchase a REAL scientific incubator for cheap.

The turbo-fan model costs 75. The backup switches and thermostat costs 15 bucks. Shipping is probably 7-10 dollars. Lets just round it all up to 95 dollars. Thats a rip considering you can buy a professional infubator for 30-80 dollars more. I paid 120 for an incubator that is miles better than a dismal hovabator. just my 50 cents.

buy a replacement plug and wire from walmart plug either wire on the heating element 1 of the plug wires do the same thing to the other wire and plug it directly to your thermostat email me if you want a pic and digram nyhellraiser@earthlink.net
