Red tail green ratsnakes

MichHerper Jun 11, 2005 10:41 PM

So I deal came up at the last reptile show that I couldn't pass up. Two female red tail green ratsnakes, 6ft.$60.00 for the pair. Of course they are fresh imports but I wanted to give it try. I know wc don't normally do great in captivity and I am not holding my breath on these guys but I want to try. I've wanted red tail green rats for a while. They do have mites and ticks which I was told before the purchase. Which I am treating with Natural Chemistry Reptile Relief every 3 days, soaking on the other days because I know it has a habit of drying the animal out. My question is, what is the best way to dose them with panacur? I'm sure they have some intestinal parasites as well. And can anyone give me any tips on how I can better my chances of success. I have them quarentined far from other reptiles in a rubbermaid rack system, no heat, on newspaper, plastic hides and water dishes. Any extra advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Jeff

LLL reptile sells panacur and has complete directions with it.The last batch I purchased were prefilled syringes from my vet. There all at 1 cc and Ive used them on import balls and larger redtails. If you hunt online im sure you can find the right dose/weight ratio...Paul
