Anyone keep Milky tree frogs?

Fleck Jun 11, 2005 11:04 PM

Hi
I am interested in milky tree frogs . I cant find any care info on them. Does anyone have them long term? I am interested in day/night temps, humidity and overall set up info for them.
I was thinking of extra high tank 28 inches high 24 inches long 12 wide.
Thanks.

I don't own any yet but Im planning on getting some soon, and I have done a bit of research. Check out the caresheet as thats the most comprehensive. I would suggest designing your tank to include hides that resemble tree holes as this is where they live and breed. In fact the only way they have been captive breed was by simulating a tree hole in a rainchamber. Ill try to find where I saw that. Good luck and keep us posted.

Thanks a lot for the care sheet link. I havent gotten mine yet either because want to know first their care.
Probably will get them within the week. Pet store I go to has a few and found them great looking. I read they ship poorly so glad I found some nice looking ones that are eating well.

I went last night to get them all were sold out. They had initially gotten 9.
First week 3 died (they ship horribly ) and they sold 2 right away the rest did great looked great and ate well but I still waited because know it takes a few weeks minimum to see if an amphibian has survived the shipping.
Maybe I waited bit to long. They are going to get more next week but now have to wait again few weeks to see how they survive as their return policy is a week and thats to soon to see how an amphibian handled the shipping.
There is a reptile expo soon in my area might get some there as its in 3 weeks. The ones the petstore had tho small (babies, young adults) looked great color wise.
I know that these and clowns might look good for a couple of weeks than die so going to look for ones that have been in captivity for awhile at herp show if I opt to get them there.
