Syth passed away

ramanth Jun 11, 2005 11:53 PM

Syth passed away Saturday morning in my hands. I felt so helpless. I miss him so much. He ate so much last night, but I had a feeling something was wrong. He bit me when I stroked his jaw, instead of rubbing against me like he normally does. When I woke this morning to feed him, I knew right away something was wrong. He was on the floor of his home, near lifeless. He barely raised his head as I lifted him. And then he was gone.

I wasn't expecting this. He left me too soon. Too soon.....

Dearest Syth,

I am so sorry I failed you. I love you so much. Though you were only with me for such a short time, the emptiness in my heart threatens to consume me.

Have fun chasing crickets. I hope Jordan was there to greet you. He's a great guy that loved all animals, Syth.

Love,
Your heartbroken mom

its always tough losing a gecko, especially after you put in all the effort and $ to get them better. you never really see it coming, and when you finally have hope...things go downhill. ive recently had a bad experience too resulting in the loss of a gecko, but all we can do is realize they no longer have to suffer.

I'm very sorry to hear about your loss. It's always hard to lose a pet no matter how short they've been a part of your life. It makes it worse when you've put your heart and time into trying to nurse them back to health. My heart goes out to you. Take comfort in knowing that you didn't fail him. Not doing anything at all would have been failing.

Kimmy,

My thoughts are with you at this sad time. Syth is painfree and well again, jumping and playing amongst the plants at the Rainbow Bridge, where he and all our beloved pets wait for us to join them someday.

Geesh, thats really sad, thought he was coming along.

Hey I just lost a baby chuckwalla I was trying to help for someone, but it was beyond saving. Did not help me feel any better about it though.

It's always sad , makes us feel quite useless and helpless. But I think many of us here TRY our hearts out for these little creatures !

Hope ya feel happier soon, and know hes in good hands.

Take Care,

Thank you all for your help and condolences.

I'm still a bit in shock, but I no longer blame myself. It was just his time as much as it pains me.
