They will take up to 1/4" crickets. However, fruit flies are very easy to raise yourself, and in my opinion and experience, are easier in the long run as a staple. Check out saurian.net for starter kits. They will all need to be dusted with calcium and vitamins. I believe Saurian recommends alternating Rep-Cal with Herptivite. I like T-Rex tree frog dust, too. P. terribilis are genuine piggies. If you are getting the orange morphs, you might consider also dusting with some paprika. There is also a product ostensibly formulated for darts called "Dendrocare." This seems to have too much vitamin A, (which can be toxic,) but I'm somewhat confused by the IE units as opposed to the IU units I'm used to, and don't know how these units are different. If you live in an area where nobody sprays insecticides and weed killers, or can access some clean fields, they also appreciate the so called "field plankton" or small insects you can net by sweeping the grass and foliage. All of my frogs are especially fond of leaf hoppers and aphids. (The aphids will not infect your tank, as they are relatively specific about the plants they infect--and they wouldn't get a chance, anyway.)
