At three days old they may not be eating anything yet, they need to consume the rest of their egg sac and have their first shed before they really start eating. With my hatchlings this took a few days. When they do start eating though: At this age they need to be eating 90% protein (when they are this small the best feeder insect to start with are pinhead crickets, as they get a bit older you can incorporate some other buggies such as silkworms) and only 10% veggies. The importance of veggies at this age is more to get the babies used to having veggies in their diet so that they will naturally eat them as they get older and you wont need to try and trick them too much. You can leave veggies with them 24/7 as well since you cannot leave live food in with them all the time. With some of my hatchlings i would entice their feeding response by dragging a piece of geen across the cage floor and let them chase it and eat it. Also, wiggling or dangling the veggies can intice them to eat. At this age, occasional little bites are all that is needed. You can feed them escarole, endive, collard greens, mustard greens, danelion greens, carrots, and a variety of other veggies...check out beautifuldragons.com for a great nutrition page.

I put the finely chopped greens in an ashtray, mine were all eating greens after 4-5 days..It doesn't always happen that way, but for some reason mine took them right away. For finnicky babies, putting the crix in an ashtray or on top of the greens makes it easier for them to catch the crix.
