Turtle HELP!!!!!

Razor22 Jun 12, 2005 11:21 AM

I have owned my two Reeves turtles for over a year now. I have one large one (which I am assuming is older) and one small one, though the differences in there size is not that much. For a couple of months now the little one has been picking on and biting at the bigger one. He wont let the bigger one get in the water anymore and when he does he quickly retreats to land. This is making it hard for me to feed my turtles and I feel the bigger turtle's health is now lacking. How do I get the other turtle to calm down and stop attacking the other turtle? Any advice would be greatly welcomed! Thank you!

Separate them.

Some turltes, once they get older will never get along. The turtle being picked on is very stressed and it is weighing on its health.

there is little you can do for "behavior modification". Some turtles are just aggressive (or it may be a case of sexual aggression). In nature, the females can eventually escape, but in a confined area, they can get bitten up very badly. Separate them.

I totally agree with the others - you'll need to seperate them.
