Robert Pelaez - congrats on a great trip....(Robert's Photos)

Robert has been pounding the cuts at the very least
since the early 90's - I'd say he earned every one of these alterna.

Beautiful snakes. Which one are Hwy. 90 and which are Hwy. 349? Were all the Hwy. 90's from east of Sanderson?

John Fraser Jun 12, 2005 11:03 PM

Aaron,
Since I took all the photos of Roberts snakes that Joe posted, their order in his post is #8 at the top, in order to #1 at the very bottom in the series. That makes the top photo, then the 4th from the top & the second from the bottom all the TX-349 snakes & all the rest were from East of Sanderson. Look forward to seeing Shannon & you in July, as I will be there then. John

East for a while, not just all in the West desert. I hope I will be able to see you there John. Later..Ric Blair

You know I've been thinking long and hard about this, about how Jeff has evolved to another level with this capture asnd release business and had I captured a 9th alterna I would have released it...unless of course it looked like #7

Thanks John, me and Shannon will be in Del Rio maybe the whole time but I am sure we will at least drive out to see you.

rpelaez Jun 12, 2005 11:21 PM

The top photo is the 8th and last alterna taken. The bottom photo of the dark phase blairi morph is the 1st alterna taken. Keeping in mind the pics are inverted but sequential in the order of capture, 1,3,4,6 and 7 are east of Sanderson; 2,5 and 8 are HWY 349. 6 is the gravid female. Does this help at all?
